*NOTICE FOR THE SELECTION OF STUDENTS FOR SHORT-TERM INTERNSHIP*

The *Department of education, cultural heritage and tourism *of the University of Macerata (Italy) is recruiting university students within the Erasmus Placement scheme in the academic year 2012/2013 to provide support in the following areas: communication  activities, assisting users in accessing relevant information/documents with particular attention to foreign students, completing general tasks and assist the staff within the European programs and projects, preparing customised documentation promoting Department (workshops and meetings) resources during the activities, administration duties.

*Qualifications and skills required *

- being a student at university, both in graduate or postgraduate studies, preferably in the field of administration, law and/or science of education;

- excellent written and fluent spoken English (required) and an intermediate level of Italian (preferable);

- accuracy, flexibility, good organization and communication skills;

- adequate drafting and computer skills (office automation);

- motivation, ability to work efficiently in a team.

*Information about the Role*

Junior European Project Assistant

Location:

University of Macerata

Department of education, cultural heritage and tourism  (Macerata - Italy)

Duration: *at least 3 months, starting from May 2013*.

*Content of the job*

Supporting the administrative office in everyday work with a proactive attitude. For instance, the trainee could be asked to attend and organise meetings, working groups, forums, public hearings; to compile the documentation for meetings e.g. background papers; to draft relevant documents in English such as:

- general reports;

- comparative reports;

- policy briefings or guidelines;

- summary papers;

and so on.

*Conditions*

Unpaid traineeships within the Erasmus Placement framework, for at least three months, addressed to university students (both in graduate or postgraduate courses) who are willing/required to complete their degree by undertaking a period of in-service training (short-term traineeship).

Practical experience with transferable skills that are valued in numerous professions, working experience in an international organization, better understanding of the information and documentation policy of the Italian university system and European projects and information sources and tools - an opportunity to develop their language skills by working in a multilingual environment and living in an Italian speaking country.

*Accommodation*

Accommodation is not automatically provided by Department although we can assist in finding accommodation to cover the trainees' stay in Macerata. The majority of students are lodged in student halls of residence in Macerata, which are reasonably priced and offer the opportunity to meet other young people.

Of course, finding private accommodation through newspaper and web advertisements is always a possibility.

*Working conditions*

The Department of education, cultural heritage and tourism  is located 30-minutes walking distance from the heart of Macerata, yet connected by two different bus lines.

The large offices are well equipped, thus helping to create an informal and friendly working environment. In terms of hours spent at the Department - a working week consists of 36 hours which means you will have time to explore what Macerata and the surrounding areas, or even countries, have to offer.
